What we're all about @the arc

The arc is owned by the Caterham barracks community trust and we are tasked by the trust to provide community benefits and in particular to work with those whose voices are the quietest. The core values that underpin our organisation are:

inspiring / inclusive / inviting

We keep these values always at the front of our mind when designing our day to day services and projects. All the classes and activities offered by the arc are totally inclusive. Our professional artists are trained, for example, to work with people with disabilities.
Our ethos is partnership, we will seek out the organisations who will allow us to develop and deliver the very best classes, projects, shows and services. We also work in partnership with those who are taking part because we believe that a sense of ownership is necessary for anyone to wholly invest in a project, and to get the most out of it.
Our two specialist areas are working with young people and working with people with disabilities. We work with both groups on many levels and in many ways, for example, we have 55 volunteers, 26 of these have special needs, 18 are under the age of 20. We actively seek students on work experience, work placements, training schemes and community service.

If you have a group you think we should work with, are an individual who would like to take part in our project work or would just like to know more, just drop me an e-mail.
